The Honourable Louise Arbour has published extensively on criminal law and given innumerable addresses on both national and international forums. Prior to her appointment with the United Nations, she served as President and CEO of the International Crisis Group, a non-profit organization devoted to global conflict resolution. As the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, and as Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Tribunals for Yugoslavia and Rwanda, Her Honour indicted then-Serbian President Slobodan Milošević for crimes against humanity. She has received numerous honorary doctorates from universities, including from UBC (2001), and many medals and awards, and was the first Francophone to be appointed to the Court of Appeal for Ontario. The Honourable Louise Arbour is currently a jurist in residence at Borden Ladner Gervais LLP.
