In honour of Canada’s Victims and Survivors of Crime Week 2020, ICCLR and the Alma Mater Society Sexual Assault Support Centre (SASC) jointly organized a live webcast (Nov. 27th, 2020) that engaged in a meaningful dialogue on supporting 2SLGBTQIA+ sexual assault survivors on post-secondary campuses.

To promote safe and supportive environments for the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, there is a clear need to build the capacity of organizations on the front line. Specifically these are organizations that provide critical services to 2SLGBTQIA+ sexual assault survivors and/or have programming to prevent sexual violence from occurring in the first place. The live webcast aims to create meaningful exchanges among post-secondary institutional staff, students, faculty, and support program administrators to advance their knowledge and capacity for supporting 2SLGBTQIA+ sexual assault survivors on post-secondary campuses. In addition to building awareness of the issues facing 2SLGBTQIA+ sexual assault survivors on campuses, this online event provides useful information on critical services and assistance programs available to the 2SLGBTQIA+ youth community.

Special thanks and appreciation to the Department of Justice Canada for making this online event possible.
