Mr. Daniel Préfontaine Q.C. is the former President and Executive Director of the International Centre for Criminal Law Reform. Mr. Préfontaine spent 27 years as a lawyer and senior manager until his retirement in 1998 at the level of Senior Assistant Deputy Minister. He has been involved in many Criminal Justice reform initiatives as well as representing Canada at International Criminal Justice organizations including the United Nations Commission on Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice, the Commonwealth Law Ministers and the Council of Europe Crime Committee. Mr. Préfontaine has received many awards for his work and in 2006, he was conferred the Award for Alumnus of the Year for Outstanding work in International Affairs by Rockhurst University.
