Mental Illness and the Criminal Justice System

This report was prepared for Re-Inventing Criminal Justice: the Fifth National Symposium. The report examines how there can be significant overrepresentation of individuals with mental illness when research proves there is only a limited causal connection between serious mental illness and crime.
