Alison MacPhail

Alison MacPhail is a lawyer with over 30 years of experience in criminal justice and public safety. She has been responsible for criminal justice policy and legislation for both the federal and BC governments in Canada and has led major legislative and program reforms. She spent the last nine years of her public service career as a deputy minister in British Columbia, as Deputy Minister of Public Safety and Solicitor General, Deputy Minister for Children and Family Development, and as the lead for criminal justice reform. She is now a consultant specializing in justice reform and access to justice issues and consults widely on a variety of justice organizational, policy and legislation issues.
